Bledsoe Teacher Highlight of the Week
Teacher Highlight of the Week - Mrs. Brandt
Jennifer Brandt is the music teacher at Bledsoe Elementary. This is Mrs. Brandt’s 17 year teaching music and second year at Bledsoe. Her passion for music is evident in all that she does. In fact, Mrs. Brandt has a long history of musical successes. She plays two instruments, the trombone and clarinet, and attended the University of Montana on a music scholarship. She earned her B.A. in Music Education and her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction.
Teacher Highlight of the Week - Mrs. Lagrone
Melanie Lagrone is a 5th grade teacher at Bledsoe Elementary. She is beginning her 7th year in FISD as she is so happy to be teaching reading and social studies to 5th grade students at Bledsoe. Mrs. Lagrone received her degree from Texas A&M University and she also grew up in Bryan/College Station, TX. Mrs. Lagrone’s husband is also a teacher/coach in FISD at Reedy HS. They have a son in 7th grade at Pearson and another son in 4th grade at Bledsoe. The Lagrone family enjoys watching and playing lots of sports together; going to the lake; and spending time with their family and friend.
Mrs. Lagrone was greatly influenced by her AP Biology teacher, Mrs. Richards. She had high expectations, but she also gave us the tools to reach them. Even though the class was challenging she made it fun. In Mrs. Richards’ class, students could always go to her for help for anything, not just biology.

Counselor's Service Dog at Bledsoe
We're so excited to share something new with you that will be happening on our campus this year. Over the summer, Mrs. Watson and her dog Kari (pronounced Car-ee) became a Certified Therapy Team! Not only did Mrs. Watson take a Handler Course, but Kari had to pass an evaluation as well. With that said, Kari will periodically be visiting our campus and meeting with students. Please know that safety is Mrs. Watson's number one priority; for students, Kari, and Mrs. Watson. If Kari is visiting with a student, Mrs. Watson will be with her and she will be leashed at all times.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Watson. If you would like to read more about the benefits of animal/human interaction please visit the following website:
Carpool Safety Tip
If your child rides in a car or booster seat, we recommend that it is placed on the passenger side of the vehicle. This ensures they exit nearest to the sidewalk avoiding moving vehicles and traffic in the outside lane/s.
Thank you for your support in keeping Bledsoe students safe during arrival and dismissal!
