What's Happening in the Eagle's Nest?

Student Safety

To maximize student safety, K-5 parents may no longer walk their child to the cafeteria or classroom. You may walk them to the gate.

We will participate in mandatory fire drills and lockdown drills throughout the school year. You will be notified after we conduct lockdown drills.

Ceiling Tile Painting

Our ceiling tile painting event is this Thursday at 5:30 in the cafeteria. Please email me to see if there are still spots available. We will offer this again!

For student safety, our procedures are changing:

******Please Read******

Below you will find our updated procedures for car riders’ morning drop off and afternoon pick up. For the safety of the children and the adults assisting them to and from their vehicles, we ask that you please follow these new procedures as closely as possible. Starting 8/19, parents will no longer be able to walk students to class. The drop off point, if arriving by foot, is the gate outside of the front office. If you will be walking your student to the gate, we ask that you park in the parking lot. The grassy area on 7th Street is a No-Parking zone.

Morning:

  • Please follow the carline until the line splits into two lanes. There are now three cones near the sidewalk and three cones that run alongside of them, thus creating two lanes for safe drop off. An adult or safety patrol student will be stationed at the cones to open the car doors.

  • Please do not unload your students prior to arriving at a cone.

  • Please be aware that periodically there will people using the breezeway crosswalk. Our SRD will be there directing traffic and letting traffic know when to stop so that people can cross the breezeway safely.

Afternoon:

  • Please follow the carline until the line splits into two lanes. There are now three cones near the sidewalk and three cones that run alongside of them, thus creating two lanes for safe pick up. An adult or safety patrol student will be stationed at the cones to open the car doors.

  • An adult will be stationed in the carline where they can call student names and have them lined up prior to the cars arriving at the cones. When you give your student’s name upon entry to the lanes, you will be given a colored piece of paper. That colored paper will indicate which color cone you should drive to. Your student will be waiting for you at that cone.

  • Please do not load your students prior to arriving at a cone.

  • Please be aware that periodically there will people using the breezeway crosswalk. Our SRD will be there directing traffic and letting traffic know when to stop so that people can cross the breezeway safely.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Streelman and Mrs. McCluskey

Read, Read, Read!

Reading at home with your child promotes their academic success! Did you know your child can take AR tests from a computer or even your cell phone? Email me if you would like your child's log in information. Hundreds of thousands of books have quizzes available on AR. Students will earn points and we will celebrate their accomplishments! This is for students in K-5.
