Roo Soccer!

The Varsity Boys played Abilene at Roo Stadium Tuesday and lost a heartbreaker! Down 2-0 at half the Roos rallied back to even up the score 2-2 with great goals by Ebake Saidi and Miguel Villanueva. With 15 minutes left in the game Abilene hit a great shot to take the lead. The Roos pressed up to even the score, but surrendered the final two in the last 10 minutes. Final was 5-2.

Then last Friday, the Roos traveled to Richland for a beautiful night of soccer. The JV lost a tough opener and things were not looking good on the road when the Rebels struck first on a breakaway. With 10 minutes remaining in the first half the Roos evened up the score on a sensational pass by freshman Sammy (the blade ) Delgado to Ebake (the rocket) Saidi. In the second half the Roos came out en fuego and smashed two goals in the back of the net both assisted by Hyrum (the hammer) Harmer. His first assist was from a cross over the defender to Adrian (the club) Cruise. Then 5 minutes later The hammer connected with the Rocket for a 3-1 lead. Final Score was. 3-1 Roos! Way to go Roos!

Lady Roo Soccer!

Varsity Lady Roos traveled to Abilene for a district match. The Lady Roos were down one goal when Yessica Martinez came into the game and scored off of a corner by Hailey Maloy. Abilene fought back scoring 2 goals in the second half making it 3-1. With 8 minutes left on the clock your lady Roos battled back to score a set piece from Hailey Maloy to Aubree McCue and then the game tying goal 3 minutes later from a Bailey Beckner cross again to Aubree McCue. The Lady Roos and Abilene Eagles went to their 8th shooters however your lady Roos fell short. Please congratulate these ladies on a well fought battle.

Then last Friday, Lady Roo Soccer hosted Richland High School. Varsity Lady Roos conceded an early goal and were unable to come back. However, they had several opportunities, fought hard, and made every Roo proud. Keeper Cali Sanchez played out of her mind to keep the Roos in the game. Please congratulate these ladies on a hard fought battle.
