All Local Scholarships will be announced at the beginning of Commencement. Please do not get out of your chairs/cars, a packet will be mailed home to all scholarship recipients on June 8th, with their scholarships and directions on how they are each awarded. Some will be live checks, some checks will be sent directly to the college/university after the end of first semester. It’s important to read these thoroughly and keep them in a safe place. The organizations do not provide WLC a copy of what you receive or the instructions on how to obtain the scholarships. Please make sure to send thank you letters!!!
DIPLOMAS & ROSES
Graduates enter stage from the right and exit to the left. You will each be called up alphabetically to receive your diploma, diplomas will be on a table in a white envelope with your name on it. Please take your diploma and one rose and return to your chair/car. We must use the social distancing measure of 6 feet between seniors, please do not crowd. If you would like to bring more roses to give to other people, those people will need to be in your car.
5:30 COMMENCEMENT WILL END
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
It is HIGHLY encouraged to put as many people in one vehicle as you can. However, there is no restriction on the amount of cars per family.
NO ONE IS ALLOWED OUT OF THE CAR EXCEPT FOR THE GRADUATE. IF SOMEONE NEEDS TO USE THE BATHROOM, THEY WILL NEED TO WEAR A MASK AND RETURN TO THE CAR PROMPTLY.
You will be unable to hug teachers. This is sad for all of us.
You will be sitting in front of your car in the chair provided. (we hope this happens and if not, all students will be in their car)
Car windows will have to be down to hear the graduation. Bring bug spray just in case.
When called up to get your diploma you will need to be aware of who is in front of you in line and start walking up to the stage after that person is called.
We are hoping to have a Videographer at Commencement.
