WELCOME BACK!
We are excited and ready to get back and kick off the 2nd semester! Im sure our students are eager to get back as well, with 15 days off please remember that this will be a transition.
Weekly Updates/ Reminders:
- ACTION: Optional homework must go home with students on a weekly basis.
- ACTION: Exit ticket trackers must be kept up to date.
- Please ensure that you are using Achievement Series data to guide your instruction during bridge week.
- Q3 Achievement Series will start next week, Monday, January 14. -- more specifics will be provided.
- Review Achievement Series post test results with students.
- Continue to make sure that bulletin boards are up-to-date with evidence of student work, student work both in your classroom and in the halls should be updated frequently.
- Lesson plans must be posted and available upon request to any visitor.
- Math Stations/ Task Menus should be up and running by the week of January 14, make sure you use this week to set the expectations and introduce students to the process.
- Students should be on iReady for 45 minutes per week in both ELA and Math, please be reminded that the usage of this program is first priority. If you are using any other programs they should only be utilized supplementary.

Instructional Levers:
- How am I checking for the understanding of ALL students? Exit Tickets?
- During classroom visits we will be looking for the use of Exit Tickets and observing Guided Reading Groups.
- Ensure guided reading groups are planned out for each group in order to meet the individual needs of your students. In order to close the gaps we must ensure we are intentional planning and using data to guide our decisions daily.
- Exit tickets should be logged into master trackers for ELA and Math.
Weekly Behavioral LOOK-FORS:
Upon returning from a long winter break, make sure you take the time to reteach expectations and continue to hold students accountable for meeting both classroom and school wide expectations.
- Morning Restorative Community Circles implemented with fidelity and as a means to build relationships and classroom community.
- Review and Reteach School-wide and Classroom expectations
- Monitor Student behavior by circulating and scanning the classroom
- Catch small behaviors and utilize the Safe Seat set up in our classrooms as a Tier I positive and restorative behavioral lever.
- Provide positive and corrective feedback through restorative conversations with our students.
