The interactive workshop “Doing What Works: Restorative Practices, Relationships, and Managing Student Behaviors” is designed to provide teachers, counselors, social workers, and administrators with strategies and resource materials that support the following objectives:
- Understanding the differences between traditional and restorative discipline
- Applying classroom management practices that facilitate a restorative environment
- Building relationships that support civility and mutual respect in both the classroom and throughout the school community
- Applying the principles of restorative practices in academic lessons while teaching at the highest levels of Bloom's Taxonomy
- Applying the format of restorative relationships to departmental and faculty meetings to model and support the practice throughout the school community.

About the Facilitator
Judy is the author of nine books designed to assist teachers with instructional practices and is a regular presenter for the National Association of Secondary School Principals and Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals. She is the lead trainer for the Ed Leaders Network on Restorative Practices and Classroom Management and has developed a series of interactive video training programs with the Illinois Principals Association on this topic. Judy’s understanding of academic engagement and restorative practices, as well her practical and pragmatic approach for supporting student behavior in a manner that protects everyone’s dignity, is recognized by educators throughout the United States.
