Message from Mrs. Langston
Monday, February 15 is a Remote Learning Day for students and a workday for teachers. We will not have any scheduled zoom meetings tomorrow.
The Remote Learning Day Smore is below. It has fun learning activities for all subject areas. I want students to complete at least one reading, math, and science activity. Happy Learning!
Learning Goals for the Week
ELA: Learning how to infer meaning from a fictional text. I can refer to details and examples in a text when explaining what the text says explicitly and when drawing inferences from the text.
I can refer to details and examples in a text when explaining what the text says explicitly and when drawing inferences from the text.
Parents: Inferring is the ability to draw a conclusion based not only on evidence in the text, but reasoning.
Math: Fractions
I can explain why a fraction is equivalent to another fraction by using area and length fraction models, with attention to how the number and size of the parts differ even though the two fractions themselves are the same size.
*We will continue to review division using the partial quotient method.
Social Studies: Government
I can learn the chronology of key historical events in North Carolina history; understand how and why North Carolina was established; explain how people, events and developments brought about changes to communities in various regions of North Carolina.
Multiplication Practice Always Needed
I'm done! Now what?
