From Mrs. Ralston
Hello Giesinger Families!
Thank you parent volunteers and Giesinger community for volunteering in classrooms and for the delicious sweet treats last week! Our staff enjoyed it so much!
Our fourth graders are performing The Nutcracker at Conroe High School this Thursday, December 16th at 7:00 PM. We invite our Giesinger families to enjoy this annual tradition.
Friday, December 17th, is an Early Release day (12:05 PM). Students return from the holiday break on January 5, 2022.
The Conroe ISD Police Department is currently collecting new toys for Santa's Dream Toy Drive. Giesinger has a collection bin in our front office and we would love to fill it with toys by December 17th!
The children In Santa's Dream toy drive is in critical need of gifts for tweens and teens. The CISD police department is approaching 500 families and well over 1,000 kids and the requests are still coming in. While they have plenty of toys for 10 & under, they have very limited items for 11 & up.
Some gift ideas:
Gifts cards in $20 or $25 dollar increments to Walmart, Target, Academy, or Visa cards.
Wireless headphones or earbuds.
Perfumes, colognes, body spray, body wash sets.
Make up, nail polish, make up brushes, etc. for girls.
Inexpensive jewelry for girls

Teen appropriate games
Thank you so much for everything all of you do to make our Conroe ISD community the best.
I wish everyone a blessed Holiday and a Happy New Year!
Melissa Ralston

GT NOMINATIONS FOR 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR – Nominations are Due Friday, December 17
All second grade students participated in the CogAT assessment in October. The CogAT assessment will serve as a GT screener for second grade students. Parents may now nominate, one time per level of test. In other words, students may test once each school year to see if they meet district requirements and /or qualify in other subject areas.
GT testing will be held at Giesinger during the school day the weeks of January 24 – 28 and January 31- February 4. Nomination forms may be returned to your student’s 3rd and 4th grade teacher OR to Jocy in the front office. ALL NOMINATION forms are due NO LATER THAN December 17!
An Update from Nurse Corbit
We are so thankful that Covid rates have dropped to a low level and most of our campus is really healthy! We still have mosquitoes on the playground, so remember to spray those arms and legs before school if your little one is getting bit!
Also, a little known fact is that cough drops are considered a medicine here in CISD, so we ask that if your child needs them, please check them into the Clinic and sign a permission form. If your child has a referral sent home, please contact the clinic with questions and recommendations.
Take Care! Nurse Corbit and Ms. Danielle.
