Belle River Elementary News
Belle River Sailors are off to a wonderful start this school year! The halls are alive with smiling faces and learning is in full swing in the classrooms.The students just finished taking their Fall NWEA assessments and our Kindergarten friends are wrapping up the KRA assessment. The students are working hard each day to learn and grow as individuals and as members of our Belle River community. We focus on being kind, safe, respectful and good friends. We look forward to a rewarding school year full of new experiences and opportunities.
Welcome Back Teachers
The PTO welcomed our teachers back with a fabulous luncheon on Sept 12th. The food was amazing and greatly appreciated. Thank you to everyone who made this event so special for our staff.
Summer Reading Challenge
The following students enjoyed a special breakfast on September 13th to celebrate successfully completing the summer reading challenge. THANK YOU FOR BEING "PORPOISE"FUL READERS!
Constitution Day Celebration
On September 17th Mrs. Westerhof’s 4th graders led an assembly to celebrate Constitution Day. The students worked in groups to create posters and gather information to teach us all about the Constitution. The whole school joined together in red, white, and blue to say the Pledge of Allegiance and enjoy this special presentation.
Try It Tuesday
The Belle River staff and students had their very first Try It Tuesday last week. Thank you Mrs. Cusumano and Mrs. Blanchard for volunteering your time to help. Here are the results of the Hummus taste test:
