Literacy Week @ Lancaster!!

TAG CHALLENGE ON TWITTER!!
Throughout the week, families can capture a picture of anyone in their family engaging in a literacy week activity, or showing their spirit and support for the week. Share your picture on Twitter and tag us with the hashtag #LancasterReads2020 @LancasterPS_LDSB. We will retweet your message and student names will be entered into a prize draw at the end of the week. Tag....you're it! : )
- Curl up and read - take turns having different family members read to each other..you can even read to the dog/cat!
- Play Musical Books - a book on every chair...when the music stops, sit and read!
- Catch your child reading at home - use reading minutes to earn screen time minutes
- Write a letter/email to a friend who moved away
- Snap a selfie of a family board game
- Create a list: a shopping list, list of items for an upcoming trip, a summer time bucket list
- Have your child read to another family member (mom, dad, grandparent, sibling, pet)
- Follow a recipe, look for items you need in a grocery flyer
- Get outside and practice your physical literacy skills as a family or with friends; skate, build a snow creation, paint the snow, create an obstacle course, find a hill for sledding!
MONDAY
- Family Literacy Day!
- "Match the Selfie to the Shelfie" - student challenge to match staff pictures to their bookshelves
- Tag a picture of your own family selfie capturing a literacy moment to Twitter - the challenge continues all week!
TUESDAY
- READ MY SHIRT DAY! Wear any shirt with writing on it
- Scholastic Book Fair Open to students and families 11am to 4pm
WEDNESDAY
- Job-Action day - No school for students
THURSDAY
- PJs and Favourite Book Day!!!
- Scholastic Book Fair open to students/families 8:30-3:15
- Whole School D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read!)
FRIDAY - PA DAY!!
