The GES Talent Show will be on Tuesday evening, Feb. 23rd at 7:00. Please plan to attend and enjoy the talent we have here at Geist!
All students in the show have a rehearsal after school on Monday Feb. 22 until 5:45. This is our dress rehearsal and students need to have everything for their acts including costumes for the dress rehearsal. We are also doing a 2nd dress rehearsal at school on Tuesday at 2:00 for our students and staff. All props and costumes are needed at school on that day, too. Please remember to send in a note giving your student permission to stay after school on Monday for our very important dress rehearsal.

ISTEP Practice- 3rd and 4th grade
Dear 3rd and 4th grade parents,
This year the state of Indiana is moving to a new publisher for the ISTEP test, Pearson Education. With a new test publisher comes new types of questions found on ISTEP. Rather than have our students just show up to testing without knowing what to expect, classroom teachers in 3rd and 4th grade have started practicing going over these test questions in class. What is even better is that you as a parent can jump online with your student and have them practice at home. The more our students can understand how the questions are structured and what they are asking for the better prepared they are. We STRONGLY urge you to use the following links to help better prepare your student for ISTEP.
Please note that these links will not work in Chrome browser!
The PARCC Practice test- This is Pearson’s PARCC assessment they have been using in other states. Though it is not ‘ISTEP’, the types of questions found on PARCC will mirror those found on ISTEP this year. Please scroll down to where it says ‘take the test’, select reading or math, and then select the grade your student is in.
The ISTEP Practice test- (will not work in Chrome browser) This is ISTEP’s official practice test for math, reading, and science (4th grade only). Just click on grade 3-4 and start the test.
For your planning purposes here is the testing window for this year’s ISTEP and IREAD assessments. Please make sure that your 3rd or 4th grader are in school on these dates:
ISTEP Applied Skills (Grades 3 and 4) ISTEP Online (Grades 3 and 4)
Feburary 29th- March 11th April 18th- May 6th
IREAD- (3rd Grade Only)
March 14- March 18th
Help our school win up to $2,000 from 5/3 Bank!

Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Flicker, thanks to our cell phone we’re all photographers! Fishers Parks & Recreation wants to help you capture the perfect picture on the one device that’s almost always in your back pocket. Residents ages 16 and older are invited to Cell Phone Photography 101, a two-week class that takes place at the Roy G. Cell Phone Photography 101 is a great program to learn more about your mobile device and how it can help you capture unforgettable moments in your life. Participants should have a mobile device that they can bring to class and should already know how to work their mobile device. STATE PARK PASSES NOW AVAILABLE FOR LOAN FROM THE LIBRARY

Due to high demand, the passes will be available on a first come, first served basis, with no holds or renewals available. Passes can be checked out for up to 7 days.
Like other library materials, if passes are returned after the due date, late fees will apply. If passes are lost, a full replacement cost will be assessed.
