Reminders For Parents

Student success is our goal at Chancellor Elementary.

We need your help!

•Spirit T-Shirts and Planners can be purchased in the front office ($10 for student shirts, $12 for adult shirts, and $2 for planners for grades 3-5)

•Please bring ID to sign in when you plan to come into the school for breakfast, a parent conference, etc.

•Breakfast is open every day to parents who sign in

•Lunch is closed to parents due to lack of space but we will host a parent lunch day several times a year

Things to remember about attendance procedures at our school:

1) School starts at 7:45 a.m.—students who are not in class by 7:55 a.m. are considered tardy. Students who are 30 or more minutes tardy, will be considered as a “POD30”, which is a part-of-day attendance violation.

2) K- 5th Dismissal is at 3:05 p.m. (Pre-K 3:15 p.m.)—students may not be released after 2:30 p.m. because dismissal procedures will have already started.

3) Students who are picked up before dismissal time will be considered as an “early leave”, which is a part-of-day attendance violation.

4) Excuse notes for absences must be returned to the front office no later than 3 days after returning to school.

5) If your child has excessive absences that have been excused by parent notes, the principal has a right to not allow anymore parent notes as excuses--only doctor's notes or notes from the school nurse will be excused.

Let us know how we can best support you and your children so that they can show up for school on time every day. We want your child to be successful in school! If you have any questions or need more information please contact our front office.

  • Arrival and dismissal have been running smoothly! A big thank you to everyone for following directions and being patient during wait times. It gets busy!
  • Signs for car rider have been delivered - please contact your teacher if you have not received yours. We will start normal procedures and request parents go to the office if you do not have your car rider sign starting in September, so please make sure you have it!

Every Alief ISD student that is a bus rider has been provided with a SMART Tag from the district. The SMART Tag monitors students loading and unloading, providing real-time information to the Transportation Department, school, and the parent. It is very important for students to have their SMART Tag as it helps increase safety and security for students riding on the bus. If your child has lost or misplaced his/her SMART Tag, the replacement cost is $4.00.

Go to Parent Portal and register to take advantage of the SMART tag parent features. If you are using a smartphone, you will be prompted to save the web app to your home screen. This will place the Parent App tile on your mobile device for easy access.

BoxTops for Education

We collect @BTFE. Please look for the Box Tops and send them in. They DO expire so please do not hold on to them for too long. Box Tops for Education will pay up to $10,000 per school year.

No more clipping. No more sending Box Tops to school. All you need is your phone. Download the ALL-NEW Box Tops app, shop as you normally would, then simply scan your store receipts to find participating products. The app will automatically credit your school's Box Tops earnings online.

Chipotle Reading Program

The Chipotle Reading Program has begun. If your child reads 1 hour at home in the month of August or September they can receive a free Chipotle kid’s meal. Please fill out and sign the reading log that was sent home documenting when they read at home. Return the reading log to Mrs. Bennett, the school's librarian, and we will send home the kid’s meal certificate. You may contact Mrs. Bennett about any questions concerning the program.
