How Halloween Got It's name
Halloween
The name Halloween comes from Christianity. In the 8th century, Pope Gregory III moved All Saints’ Day, or All Hallow’s Day, to November 1st to replace the celebration of Samhain. The day before, October 31st, is called All Hallow’s Eve, or Halloween for short.
