CLIMATE
- Thank you to the faculty for contributing suggestions for the trends that were identified by the climate committee. These suggestions were made at the faculty meeting on December 6, 2017.
- We also scheduled an additional work session to be held from 2:30 – 3:30 on December 14th. If you are interested in being a part of the decision making team, we hope you can attend this meeting.
- If you did not get a chance to view the Climate Data and would still like to do so, please email Erin Steep to set up a time. ·
- Congrats to Bridgett Myers, Tony Roungon, Nancy Richardson, and Rose Hackstadt for winning our Gift Card Drawing on Friday. Thanks to KOE for donating the gift cards to our 10 Days Until Winter Break Countdown! We hope you will join us as we celebrate the end of first semester with 9 more days of fun activities.
- Thank you to the ELA department for facilitating the completion of the Student Climate Survey last week. It went so smoothly I’m sure most of us didn’t even know it was happening! Thank you for your willingness to help.
ATTENDANCE
FHN currently has 84.4% of students attending 90% of the time. We are thrilled that over 20 students are now paired up with an Attendance Ally. However, there is clearly more work to be done. When the second semester starts, please think about reaching out to parents/families any time a child’s attendance begins to impact their success in your class. Thank you.
BEHAVIOR
FHN has seen a 30% decrease in ISAP incidents (127 to 89) and a 10% increase in OSS incidents (60 to 66) compared to this time last year. The Behavior Team met last Tuesday.
Discussion Items:
Reviewed monthly behavior data
Potential upcoming Book Study
Update from Mentor Field Trip for Community Building
Action Steps:
Recommendation to put office contacts in SEOP Binders for quick reference for subs
Tracking 9th grade discipline compared to numbers while in 8th grade
Next Meeting 1/9 at 2:30 in Room 5/8
