The Riebli Record
John B. Riebli Elementary- September 22, 2023
Read on, Sonoma!
Students in grades 2-6 at our school will participate in the "Read On, Sonoma!" challenge. Students are assigned a “goal” each trimester. The goal is set through the results of their STAR diagnostic assessment. Each time a student reads a book or article, they will complete a quiz on comprehension and receive a score. Scores are recorded and tracked through the Accelerated Reader Program (AR)
What an increase!!
In one week, our students in grades 2-6:
*read 328 books
*read 3,090,563 words!
*Averaged 20 minutes a day!
GREAT JOB!!!

ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Strong attendance has a proven impact on school success. Chronic absence — missing 10 percent or more of school days due to absence for any reason—excused, unexcused absences and suspensions, can translate into third-graders unable to master reading, sixth-graders failing subjects and ninth-graders dropping out of high school.
The faculty and staff of Riebli Elementary School encourage parents to ensure that scholars attend school everyday in order to achieve academic success!
