Spring Bucket Filling
Dear Parents,
It's hard to believe this year is coming to an end, and this is our last of three newsletters. Your children have been busy filling buckets with our service learning project initiatives. Keep reading to see what we've been learning and doing for others. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication this year in supporting our Bucket Filling initiatives.
Sincerely,
Dr. Suzanne Viscovich, Principal
BUCKET FILLER GARDENSpring has sprung, and so have the beautiful daffodils the students planted along with their promises on how they would be Bucket Fillers. This beautiful garden is a reminder to always fill someone's bucket and yours gets filled back! | GREEN TEAMThrough a grant from SEPTA, Mrs. Long's class engaged in a recycling project. Each week, they put on their aprons and visited each classroom to collect their empty water bottles and teach fellow students about recycling for our earth. | PLATT-DUETSCHE RETIREMENT HOME VISITEach winter and spring, Homestead students visit residents of the Plattduetsche to perform our concert songs. Doing so brings smiles to the residents' faces, and filling their buckets makes us feel good, in turn filling ours. This is an important lesson the children take with them as they move on. |
