Week of February 16-19
Special Area Classes Update
Hello Arrowhead Families,
I am happy to say our first two weeks of blended learning went very well. In an effort to safely move towards a more normal school day routine, special area teachers will begin delivering instruction in their classrooms on Monday, February 22nd. This has already been the case in gym, and the other special areas have been using their rooms on a rotating basis. This move will allow the students a movement break, provide more area for spacing since special area rooms are larger, and no materials will be shared. More importantly the students will have a chance to learn outside their classroom. This move is in accordance with the district’s safety plan. Music classes will continue to be delivered in the homeroom classrooms. The music room is currently used as our isolation room. Thanks for your support and cooperation.
Thank you,
Dr. Roberts
Blended learning and school safety protocols
Safety protocols: masks must be worn at all times for students and staff with the exception of lunch. We have directional arrows in our hallways for the students to follow and staff will assist our students during arrival and dismissal every day in following the arrows while maintaining social distance. Masks will also remain on at recess, and students will continue to play at recess with their classroom cohort in assigned areas.
Lunch: students are seated 4 to a table and are socially distanced during lunch. In addition, we are using plexiglass at our cafeteria tables as an extra safety precaution. We are using all available cafeteria space during lunch to ensure that students are safe and spaced apart while eating. Tables and eating areas are cleaned between lunch sessions.
Recess: Each class is assigned to a different recess play area. Classes may only play with the class homeroom cohorts. Additionally, recess equipment and materials are disinfected between each recess session.
Teachers and staff have done an outstanding job during the Hybrid model helping student following the safety guidelines. Arrowhead staff will continue to help and assist students in order to keep all safe. Our Methacton Online Virtual students will continue to stream classes and follow the schedule.

If you have been using a personal laptop or other device for at home learning it will be necessary to pick up a Methacton device if you choose the on premise 4 day blended model option. We appreciate your support related to this change.

Transportation Update
This information only pertains to families who have chosen to personally transport their child/ren home from school (PM car riders).
For the safety of our students, we have implemented a new ‘End of Day’ transportation procedure for regular car riders. According to the survey you filled out earlier this year, your child is to ride home by car each day they attend school in person. If you have changed your mind, and would prefer your child take the school bus home, kindly send me an email with your changes. If possible, we would like to keep your child’s means of transportation the same each day they attend school.
All families that had elected to be ‘end of the day car riders’ will be assigned a number which will serve as a quick identifier for regular car riders. Each family will receive 2 copies of a dashboard car number sign which is meant to be placed on the passenger side dashboard of the designated parent or guardian’s car.
Of course, if you have an emergency and you need your child to ride home in a different manner, please email Barb Goff (bgoff@methacton.org) and copy Adriana Rundle (arundle@methacton.org)

Do you want to help with Arrowhead Announcements?
We are interested in having our students participate in our morning announcements. We created a flipgrid topic link so students can record themselves making announcements. They can say the pledge allegiance, the Arrowhead School pledge or tell a joke. This is completely optional. If you allow your child to create a flipgrid video, this will provide the consent for the video to be shared during our morning announcements. Again, this is an optional activity and it will only be shared with your agreement. If you are interested in creating a flipgrid video, please click on the flipgrid link https://flipgrid.com/e75120f3
