GRADUATION DATE IS SET!
OHIO IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL INCOMING 12th GRADE STUDENTS FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR
Students entering 12th grade must have a Meningococcal (A, C, Y, W-135) vaccine. If the 1st dose of Meningococcal was administered after the 16th birthday, a second dose is not required. STUDENTS will not be permitted to attend school until proof of these immunizations has been provided to the school or an exemption statement is on file at school. Immunizations may be obtained from your child’s healthcare provider, most local pharmacies, and the Stark County Health Department. Please submit a copy of your child’s immunization or complete an exemption form prior to the first day of school. Please contact Lori Fisher, should you have questions. Initial notifications will be sent home in your students final report card (11th graders). Exclusion from school will take place if correspondence is not received. You may either submit an electronic copy to laf2jc@jackson.sparcc.org, drop off a copy of your child's records to the main/guidance office or mail a copy to me at school. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Lori Fisher at laf2jc@jackson.sparcc.org or 330.834-4653 or 330-837-3501 ext. 1415
JACKSON LOCAL SCHOOLS BACKPACK PROGRAM
We are pleased to be able to offer The Backpack Food Program, in partnership with RiverTree Jackson. This is a service for families in the Jackson Local School district with students in K-12. The goal of this program is to send home a variety of easy, ready-to-eat meals and snacks for your child to have over the weekend. There is absolutely no cost to our families to join this program. The bags will be delivered to your child’s school weekly, and sent home with students on the last day of the week that students are in school, usually Fridays.
Our first distribution will take place on Thursday, September 14. You may choose to participate at any time, but registration is needed by the Thursday of the week before, so for the first week, the deadline would be on Thursday, September 7.
This program is intended for families whose children are eligible for free/reduced meals. However, we understand some families may not be eligible for the free/reduced meal program, but are still in need of food. If you would like to opt in, please fill out the google form linked below (one for each student). Please know, all information you share with us is kept in the strictest confidence.
To apply to be part of the Backpack Food Program, all you need to do is fill out the quick application form by clicking the link below: (one for each student). Please know, all information you share with us is kept in the strictest confidence.

ATTENDANCE CHANGES FOR THE '23-'24 SCHOOL YEAR
If your child is sick and has a medical note, please turn these into the attendance office immediately upon return to school as medically excused absences do not count into these 65 hours. This would also include doctor's appointments throughout the year.
Students will continue to be exempt from taking their final exams if they have an A average in a course. However, our new policy this year state that if students receive an attendance letter, meaning that they have missed at least 65 hours of school, then they will be required to take their final exam even if they have an "A" average in the course.
IF ELIGIBLE PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO FILL OUT AND TURN IN THE FREE AND REDUCED LUNCH FORM
