Every Leopard, Every Day!
Junior Achievement Day
The GISD Education Foundation organized the Junior Achievement day for our Chalmers students on Thursday. More than 40 community, school, and parent volunteers made this event a huge success. Each volunteer was assigned a different classroom to teach lessons on financial literacy and entrepreneurship, all of which was provided by the JA organization. Each of the volunteers donated 6 hours of their valuable time PLUS the prep and training time required for a successful day in the classroom. Junior Achievement's purpose is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. We love bringing new volunteers into our schools! A big THANK YOU to the Education Foundation, the volunteers, and the local businesses provided volunteers: City of Gainesville Government, Select Energy Services, First State Bank, Boys & Girls Club, Schalk & Smith, Gainesville FD, GEDC, Glenn Polk AutoPlex, Workforce Solutions Texoma, Lee Russell - Edward Jones.

Anyone wishing to refer a student attending Gainesville ISD in kindergarten through 12th

the referral form. This form must be returned to the school by November 30. Those unable

Mobile app ensures easy access to parent portal.
Parents...did you know you can easily access parent portal through our GISD mobile app? You can also add parent portal to your home screen. Or you can do both!
Parent portal is where you did online registration, but also is where you can access all of your child's grades, absences,
attendance, discipline referrals, and more. You can also subscribe to alerts by email and/or text message for things such as a grade below 90, and average below 80, missing assignments, etc. This helps prevent surprises at progress report and report card time!
