Taylor's News!
This week in Math and Science/Social Studies:
Math– This week we will measure perimeter and area. We hope to get out to the Titan garden this week and practice these skills in a fun, hands on way! PACE math students will be connecting perimeter and area models to formulas.
Science – Our investigations this week will help students understand the ability of materials to sink or float. We will also be investigating temperature.
Social Studies - We will research a specific Texas Indian Tribe and share our results with the class.
Stern's News!
READING: We will continue to read and discuss informational/expository non-fiction text. This week we will continue to focus on stating main idea based on important supporting details. We will also review fact and opinion.
WRITING: This week we will continue look at examples of good expository writing. We will share our expository writing from last week and write a new one explaining what a GREAT Thanksgiving means to me.
SPELLING: This week's spelling words come from Unit 12. Our spelling skill concept this week focuses on the 6 rules for making a noun plural. We will also cover comparative and superlative suffixes er and est since we didn't get to them last week. Spelling words for the week will be recorded by students in the far right column of the week's agenda. Pace Language Arts students will have an extra 8 words per week. Any students wishing to include the pace words into their spelling test may do so.
