Pending amendments to ESSER III funding plan
In August 2021, Lexington One finalized the spending plan for the district’s portion of the grant received from the federal government as part of the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER III Fund). Since that time, the district has implemented the plan with minor changes.
As we enter the final months of the funding availability, the district has conducted a thorough review of the plan to prioritize spending for the remainder of the grant. Some of the changes to the plan, for example the Instructional Staff category, stem from being able to address those priorities with funds from previous relief grants from the federal government (ESSER I and ESSER II). This freed up money to address acceleration of student academic growth and safety improvements.
Based on the extent of the proposed changes, the district is required to provide our community with an opportunity to review the updated plan and give feedback prior to submitting the amendments to the S.C. Department of Education for final approval.
Click here to review the updated plan. This report complies with all ARP Act (Public Law 117-2), the ESSER III grant terms, conditions and assurances (CFDA Number 84.425U), and the interim final rule established by the United States Department of Education’s 86 FR 21195.
To give feedback on the proposed amendments, click here to access an online survey. The survey will close at 11:59 p.m. on January 7, 2024.
Voter Registration Deadlines
In South Carolina, an individual must complete voter registration at least 30 days prior to election day in order to vote. If you're not registered, you have several options to complete the process in South Carolina prior to the upcoming deadlines. Individuals planning to participate in the Democratic primary must complete voter registration by January 4, 2024. For an individual planning to participate in the Republican primary, the deadline to register is January 25, 2024. South Carolina is an "open" primary state, which means voters can choose to participate in either the Democratic or Republican primary, but a voter can not participate in both primaries.
If you have a South Carolina drivers license, you can complete the entire process online by clicking here. You can also opt to register to vote by completing this form and then either mailing or delivering the form to your county election office (which you can find here). Voter registration forms can also be completed at a wide variety of government offices, including DMV locations.
