Week 2! We Made It!
The second week of school has started and I hope that everyone is beginning to settle into a routine again! I have enjoyed watching our athletes practice and compete! My social media accounts have been filled with all of the accomplishments from Golf, Cross Country, Baseball, and Softball!
We have been working very hard to provide the best remote learning opportunities possible to our students. We understand that there are going to be connectivity issues. The students have been doing a great job reaching out and letting us know when this is going on. I have tried to link the most critical pieces of information to this newsletter for quick reference when you need it. If there is something that I could add that would be helpful, please let me know and I will add it!
We have procedures and policies in place in our student handbooks that are applicable for a "normal" school setting/year, but as you can imagine, these procedures and policies might not adapt to a remote learning classroom environment. Over the past few weeks, we have been working on expectations for remote classroom behaviors, attendance, homework completion, and a variety of other topics. The most common report that Mr. Woodside and I have been working on addressing is our Zoom Norms: all teachers having the same webcam expectations, engagement of students, and addressing distracting behaviors in a uniform manner, just to name a few. Mr. Woodside is finalizing these norms and will share them with parents and students. We need and appreciate your cooperation in communicating these expectations to your child when you receive them. Ultimately, our goal is to prepare our students for success in all areas of life - school, the workforce, and college. Please partner with us in accomplishing this goal for our students- Pretzels Prepared for Life!
Thank you!
Mrs. Llewellyn
