Feb/March Update
I hope everyone is doing well, we are almost through winter and spring is right around the corner. Our athletic and club teams have been having great seasons. Both our Boys and Girls Basketball teams claimed the NCTL Stars Division Championship last week. Both of these teams are fun to watch and are preparing for a deep run into the MHSAA basketball tournament. The Kington Weightlifting Club has grown in participation and have been preforming at a high level. They have multiple lifters who have qualified for the state meet. The Varsity State meet will be March 4th at Adrian High School. The JV State meet will be March 11th at Kersley High School. Good luck to all lifters. The RC Club has been busy this winter. They hosted an event here in Kingston this month and have traveled to Bay City for an event. The club has been busy preparing for spring competition. Good luck to the Kingston RC Club. The Robo Cards 4994 have been busy making shirts and getting their robot ready for competition. The Robo Cards will travel to Kettering University to compete on March 3rd and 4th in their first coemption of the year. Then they will travel to Standish Sterling on March 17th and 18th for their other coemption. Then if everything goes well at these events they will qualify for states at SVSU in April. The last group, I want to recognize this month is our High School Band. Our band went to Solo ensemble on February 11th in Imlay City and we had 5 students earn 1's and four of them will be going to state in Port Huron on March 18th.
Great job by all of our student athletes and club members. I also want to thank all the mentors who take time out of their busy lives to support these clubs.
We also have some celebrations for a few of our Seniors here at Kingston. Ethan Green was selected the Class C MHSAA/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete. He will be presented with a $2000 scholarship at the Boys Basketball Finals in Eat Lansing on March 25th. Congratulations to Ethan Green on this great achievement. I would like to congratulate Ethan Harrington on being selected ABC12 Athlete of the Week. TV12 came to Kingston in February and interviewed Ethan and showcased his determination to be a great basketball player. I would also like to recognize this years valedictorian and salutatorian. The Kingston Class of 2023 Valedictorian is Ethan Green. Ethan plans to attend Ferris State University and study optometry. The Kingston Class of 2023 Salutatorian is Conner Seaman. Conner plans to attend Northwood University and study sports data analytics. Congratulations to both Ethan and Conner on their hard work and achievements.
We have a couple of great events planned for our students this month. We will be taking 45 students to SVSU to showcase their talents as they compete against other area teams in academic games. We will take a Junior High, Math. Science, English, Social Studies, and Technology Team to this event. We will also be taking our 11th graders over to Caro for a career day. This will give our 11th graders an opportunity to talk to employers, colleges, military and trade schools about their future. The other event that we have in March is our 9th graders will be visiting the Tuscola Technology Center.
In closing, as Principal I hope to give every student here at Kingston an opportunity to explore different career options and feel that these career days are a great opportunity to make that happen. I am also super proud of our athletic teams and clubs. I am so happy to see our clubs growing in numbers and giving our students an opportunity to showcase their talents.
Kingston is a great place to live and receive a quality education!!!!

Dual Enrollment
Here at Kingston we offer dual enrollment to 9th-12th graders who meet our dual enrollment criteria. This is a great opportunity for students to receive college credits and get a college experience. Most of our students take classes through Delta College or Mid Michigan Community College. If you or your child would like more information about dual enrollment, please contact Mrs. Bundschuh or Mrs. Wolverton.
