Week of December 12 - 16 and January 4 - 6
STAFF DEVELOPMENT HOURS
SBISD requires that teachers have 12 hours of off contract staff development every year. An additional 6 hours is needed in order to be off on the Flex Day, which is February 20th.
Your off contract hours are listed in Eduphoria, please check in Eduphoria. For new staff, if you are unsure how to check for this, please check with your mentor.
BUILDING OPEN ON SATURDAYS
The next two Saturdays the building will be open for basketball, and you are welcome to come and work if you would like. The hours are 10 to 3.
Beginning January 7th, the building is open every Saturday until February 18th. (There is a group that uses our school for basketball practice.)

Thursday, December 15 - MWE Sing Along in the cafeteria (K-2 @ 1:15) and (3-5 @ 2:00)
Friday, December 16 - Class parties, early dismissal, alternate schedule (Class parties are handled by the PTA/Room Parent(s). They will provide a snack and a craft/gift.)
Tuesday, January 3 - staff reports to work. This will be a staff development day. A schedule for the day will be sent to you.
Wednesday, January 4 - students return

EARLY RELEASE SCHEDULE
This early release schedule for December 16th is provided below, including the times for your parties. It is in a google sheet called "Master Schedule", which you should have access to. If you do not, please let me know right away.
PREPARING FOR THE HOLIDAY BREAK
- All Christmas decorations should be removed from your bulletin boards and your classroom.
- Leave your room neat and organized.
- Work on your lesson plans for the week of January 4th. The 3rd is a staff development day, and although you may have some time to work in your room, we have a lot of items we need to cover. A schedule for the staff development day will be sent to you at a later date.
- Speech, AIM and Medically Fragile staff will have off campus staff development on January 3rd. A schedule has been placed in your boxes.
- Microwaves or any other type of electrical appliance in the classroom or intervention areas should be turned off.
- All computers and monitors should be turned off, but remained plugged in.
- All of the devices in the computer carts should be plugged in.
- The cart itself should also be plugged in.
- Leave surge protectors ON.
- For activboards, be sure the projector is turned completely off.
- If you use a desktop computer, it should be turned off, and also turn off the monitor.
- Turn off all printers.
