Where Learning Takes Flight

A Note from Mrs. Tallent

Our First Veterans Day Car Parade was a success! Our students and staff loved being able to celebrate our veterans and thank them for their sacrifice and service. My husband proudly served in the Marines, so this day holds a special place in my heart and I appreciate everyone helping us honor our heroes! We hope that word can spread and we can make it bigger and better next year!

Coming up this week we have our PPP (Parents, Principal and PTO President) Meeting on Monday, November 15th from 8:30-9:30 and from 6:30-7:30 in our cafeteria. Remember there is no agenda, we will be talking about topics parents would like to talk about and answering any questions parents may have. We look forward to seeing you there!

We will have Turkey Trot this coming Friday before we leave for Thanksgiving Break! Parents are welcome to join us and will enter through the side gate by the portables just like we did for Boosterthon (see map below). Then the week we return from break we will have Grandparent's Luncheon on Thursday and Friday. Please see the information and details about each event below, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Grandparent's Luncheon

Grandparents' Luncheon will be December 2nd (K-2) and December 3rd (3-5). We will have one grade eating with their grandparents at a time. Grandparents will be able to social distance with their grandchild inside or eat outside under our pavilion if they prefer. Students who don't have a grandparent coming will get to eat in their classrooms or have a picnic with their teachers. We try to make this a fun experience for everyone regardless of whether a grandparent comes or not!

Things to Remember for Grandparents Luncheon:

  • Don’t forget to fill out the fast pass for your child’s visitor to bring to the front office on Grandparents Day on December 2nd for K-2 students or December 3rd for 3-5 students.

  • Visitors are welcome to bring outside food for themselves and the child they will be visiting.

  • Please make sure all visitors allow enough time to check in before their child’s scheduled lunch.

Bike Safety and Security

Over the course of the school year we have unfortunately had several bikes that have been stolen from our bike racks. In order to prevent further incidents we want to encourage all students to place their bikes in the bike racks and secure them with a lock. We have noticed several students who have locks but choose not to use them to secure their bikes.

A Note From a Parent: Looking For Parent Volunteers: Before-School Crossing Guards Needed

Hello! As a parent of a Fall Creek Student who walks to school each morning, I've become aware of the busy intersection at Mesa Drive and Redstone Bend. In hopes to reduce potential dangers to children and parents crossing the street each morning, I'm looking for volunteers who would be interested in filling the role of crossing guard. Shifts would run from approximately 7:15-8:00 AM Monday-Friday. There is no limit to the number of volunteers who can participate! If interested, please contact Chelsea Judd. 480-793-4376 or chelsealynnjudd@gmail.com.

Volunteers Needed for Junior Achievement!

Junior Achievement is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to inspire young people to succeed in a global economy. We need one parent volunteer per class to come in 5 times a year for 1 hour. Junior Achievement will provide the training and curriculum; we just need your enthusiasm, life experience, and a willingness to teach children about how you took chances and shot for the stars! If you are interested in volunteering, or have any questions about the Junior Achievement role, email Bridget Pittman at fceptoja@fcpto.com. Please include your child’s grade and teacher. Thank you!
