Don't Forget to Re-Enroll!

Once a grade reaches 75% re-enrollment for next year, all students in that class will be able to dress down EVERY SINGLE FRIDAY until the end of the year! A couple of classes are getting very close. As we stand now:

PreK: 53%

Kindergarten: 50%

1st Grade: 32%

2nd Grade: 54%

3rd Grade: 47%

4th Grade: 11%

5th Grade: 60%

6th Grade: 33%

7th Grade: 46%

Fill out the re-enrollment form that came home again last week (there are extras in the office, or print one here if you need it), and return with your $150 per family fee, and let's get every class to 75% or higher! At 100%, the class will win a pizza party, so start talking it up to your friends.

Wondering How Many Service Hours You Have Completed for This Year?

Visit and you can see your hours if you have been signing up for spots through there.

  • From a computer, log into the site, hover over your name, and click Profile on the drop down menu. Scroll down to Participant Hours Report and click on the orange Email Report button. Your hours will then be emailed.
  • If you are accessing the website from a phone, log in and click the three bars to the right of the Dashboard title. Then click on My Service Hours to see everything.

If you have any unreported hours or additional questions, you can reach Mrs. Sombong at

Any hours worked after March 31 (like Mother/Son Bowling, the school picnic, and the Good Neighbor Day Parade) will be credited toward your 2019-20 school year volunteer requirement. Some opportunities between now and then:

Parking Lot Faux Pas -- Continued

There is still at least one car entering through Park Avenue in the mornings. If you see this person and recognize the parent or child, please report them to the office so we can address them directly.

Additionally, if you are a parent who parks and walks your child in (which is strongly discouraged), you MUST NOT CROSS THROUGH the line of moving cars on foot. Please walk your child to the top of the playground by the split-rail fence, and make sure the first car is not moving when you pass in front of it. There is limited visibility to the drivers who are in line, and we would not want to see you run over or causing an accident.

Those of you picking up on Chicago Avenue after school, or in the teachers' lot, or parking on the street on Park Avenue--these are all strictly prohibited. Please enter the lot and wait in line with everyone else. If you have someone else picking up your child who is unaware of the rules, it is your duty to inform them.

For a review of our procedures, maps are on our website.

Year-End Box Tops Challenge

Next week, each classroom will receive its own collection jug. As you save and clip the Box Tops, simply send them in with your child to add to his or her class's jug. No need for collection sheets or counting and tallying yourself, just send 'em in! The class that has the most Box Tops in their bottle by May 15 will have an outdoor pizza party lunch on the front balcony on May 17. Meanwhile, keep entering the Daily Sweepstakes through April 1, and let's try to win 10,000 bonus Box Tops!

Mother/Son Fun coming up soon!

FRIDAY, APRIL 12, 5:30-8:00 p.m. at LAN OAK LANES

Ticket order forms went home in this week's envelope. $30 per couple ($10 for each additional son of the same family) gets you unlimited bowling, shoes, a photo keepsake magnet, and a pizza dinner. You only have one week to purchase before the price goes up, and this popular event sells out very quickly every year, so get the gang together and order your tickets right away. Earn volunteer credit for next year by helping out or donating pop, sides, and desserts.

Nominate a school employee

The Heart of the School Award honors our dedicated teachers, administrators and staff members who support our students and Catholic mission every day. All nomination forms must be submitted online at by Friday, April 12, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. CST in order to be considered.

Join Us On Lenten Fridays at 2:00 p.m.
