Capture and Kill of Osama bin Laden

Mitchell McDonald

Osama bin Laden was the most hated man in America. Osama was the leader of a terrorist group called Al-Qaeda which committed multiple terroristic events against the Untied States. He was a man of mystery, he tried avoiding all questions and being seen by people. He lived near Pakistan after being exiled from Saudi, Arabia.

For many months U.S. intelligence spy planes monitored his compound for sights of Osama. After finding out he was there the S.E.A.L.s created a replica of his compound to train in. On April 29, 2011 the covert mission was authorized and by Monday May 2nd at 1:15 a.m. local time Osama bin Laden was dead.

Osama bin Laden's compound was located about five minutes away from the Pakistani military academy which is in Kakul, Pakistan. Osama was killed in the top floor of his house in his bedroom.

On October 7, 2001 president Bush introduced operation enduring freedom. Then on April 29, 2011, president Barrack Obama authorized a covert mission, Operation Neptune Spear, to raid Osama bin Laden's compound. This took action on May 1st, 2011. By 1:15a.m. local time Monday May 2nd Osama bin Laden was dead.

We killed Osama bin Laden because he caused terroristic attacks on the United States. He caused 9/11, the 1998 bombing of two U.S. embassies in Africa, and the attack on the U.S.S. Cole in 2000. He had more attempts on the U.S. but most of them failed.
