Why?
We killed Osama bin Laden because he caused terroristic attacks on the United States. He caused 9/11, the 1998 bombing of two U.S. embassies in Africa, and the attack on the U.S.S. Cole in 2000. He had more attempts on the U.S. but most of them failed.
