Norris Mission Statement
Important Dates for 2018-2019
July 31-August 13: Window to turn in current proof of residency. The office will be open from 9:00 am-3:00 pm, and will be closed on Friday, August 3rd.
- A current utility bill, lease or housing contract will be accepted. Utility bills MUST dated July or August.
- Proof of residencies need to be submitted before the start of EVERY school year!
- In order to be on a class list for Meet the Teacher Night, a proof of residency needs to be turned in by 8/13
August 13: Kindergarten Meet the Teacher Night; 6:00-7:00 pm
August 14: 1st-5th grade Meet the Teacher Night; 6:00-7:00 pm
August 16: First Day of School; tardy bell rings at 7:45 am & school ends at 2:55 pm
2018-2019 Norris School Supplies
Norris Elementary offers the EduKit program as a convenient option for busy families to order your student’s school supplies for the 2018/2019 year. EduKits are custom made to include the supplies selected and approved by our school and shipping is FREE!
Your student’s order will be available at Meet the Teacher day, if you order by June 15.
Extended online ordering is available through EduKit’s Last Chance program from June 16 – July 27. Last Chance orders are subject to additional fee and will be delivered to your home shortly before school begins.
REMINDER: Order kits for the grade your student(s) will be entering in the 2018/2019 school year at NORRIS Elementary.

PTA News
Thank you Norris Families for Supporting the PTA this year. All your time and contributions have made this year so successful in what we have been able to accomplish, we could not have been able to do it without you. Have a safe and fantastic summer!!
Norris Board Positions 2018-2019
We are actively working to create our 2018-19 Norris PTA Board. Volunteering on the PTA Board is a great way to meet other Norris parents, while supporting our students & school. Here are the open positions for next year:
- Council Delegate- attends monthly daytime FISD council meetings & reports back to the PTA Board at monthly meetings; attends Rally Day
- Directory- manages the creation of the school directory
- Healthy Lifestyles- plans Walk to School Day, Bike to School Day, & Family Fitness Night
- Room Parent Coordinator- prepares Room Parent Handbooks, holds 2 Room Parent trainings, handles all Room Parent communication, and assists as needed in party planning
- SAGE- plans Diverse Abilities Day (October) and shares information throughout the year regarding the Special and Gifted Education programs
- Spring Carnival- plans Spring Carnival
- Parliamentarian- advises the board on matters of parliamentary procedure & provides guidance when needed
- Volunteer Coordinator- collects a list of volunteers at the beginning of the school year. Then, creates & manages signups when PTA or Norris has a need for volunteers.
