Illness Procedures
As we head into the cold and flu season, we want to remind parents of our illness procedures.
For the protection of all children in school, your child must be kept home if he/she has any of the following symptoms or illness:
- Fever 100 or above. Students are required to stay home and may return to school 24 hours after their fever is gone without fever-reducing medication.
- Diarrhea and/or vomiting. Students are required to stay home until 24 hours after the last episode.
- Strep Infection. Student may return to school 24 hours after antibiotics if feeling well.
- Red eyes, with discharge
- Undiagnosed rash. The student must be seen by a health care provide before sending them to school.
- COVID-19. Student must isolate for 5 days after positive test or the beginning of symptoms. Day one would be the day after symptoms or positive test.
If symptoms or illness appear while your child is at school, a parent will be called to take the child home. Please note, the emergency contact will be called if the parent cannot be reached.
If your student will be absent, please remember to fill out the attendance form ATTENDANCE FORM (You must give a reason for your student to be excused).
If your student requires any medication (prescription or over-the-counter) to be given at school, a medication authorization form will need to be completed by your health care professional. Please click HERE for the form. If you need a paper copy, you can ask for one in the health office.
Thank you for your cooperation.
