Our Spartans are not exhibiting restlessness or excitement, symptoms of Spring Fever! Instead, positive behavior has become contagious. Every week, teachers and staff refer students who have that Spartan S.P.A.R.K. and model appropriate behavior. I look forward to Friday, when I announce their name, take a selfie, and drop a postcard in the mail!

Fifth-Graders really MATTER to our friends at Jefferson Lab!
The 5th Grade Students attended Physics Fest at Jefferson Lab, in order to review the states of matter and learn more about atomic structures. The scholars were able to see experiments with liquid nitrogen and plasma. Students witnessed freezing balloons and shattering flowers. Along with wearing special glasses that allowed them to see the different colors of the spectrum within a given object. Thank you Jefferson Lab once again for such enriching experiences for our Spartans!
Lick-able Lunar Cycles!
Spartans have lots of Spark!

Fourth Grade Marvels CARE about the Residents of the Chesapeake!
4th Grade Field Trip: As part of the 4th Grade ICARE project, all students wrote poems and created Kindness Rocks for the residents of The Chesapeake Retirement Community. Several 4th Grade students then represented Saunders in a field trip to read the poems, present the Kindness Rocks, and visit with the residents. The students enjoyed the opportunity to give to others in our community.
Amazing Animal Presentations!
April Showers Bring May Flowers in Art!
Kindergarten Authors Create Characters!
As authors we created characters! Ms. Lee's Kindergarten students were given materials with no instruction to make characters. Their characters are so creative! Thank you to kind parents for their donations.
