Change in School Resource Officers
Officer Steffonie Cockerill
We'll miss you!
Officer Jonathan Williamson
A plan has recently been approved for schools to have a full-time School Resource Officer. While this is exciting news for the schools in Town Limits, it means that a change is coming.
Officer Steffonie Cockerill has been assigned to work full-time at Lexington Elementary. Officer Jonathan Williamson has been assigned to work full-time at Meadow Glen Elementary. New Providence will welcome Officer Jennifer Klinsic to be our new full-time SRO.
We want to thank Officer C and Officer W for the years of service you have given to us at NPE. We appreciate everything they've done and the way they love our children and community! We know they will do great things at LES and MGES and they have each promised us they will visit!
This change will take place Monday, March 22nd. A "farewell" celebration is being planned and NPE will have both officers come back to celebrate!
Once a LION, always a LION!
SEL Focus of the Week: Teamwork
Teamwork
As a part of the SEL Competency, Relationship Skills, this week we will study teamwork. Teamwork means working together (cooperating) with others to get to an end goal.
This week, our LIONS will be challenged to show teamwork with a classmate or a friend by choosing one of these skills to work on all week.
Have good communication
Encourage each other
Listen to others
From Mr. Candillo
Hello LIONS,
It was quite a busy week as we transitioned to our new schedule and experienced a day of e-Learning. Thank you for your grace, flexibility and support of our teachers and staff as we made it through despite the changes and challenges this week!
I appreciate you adjusting your arrival time! Thank you to all of you who volunteered to drop off between 7:05 and 7:20. If we can get a few more cars to do this, we can get all cars through the line well before 7:35.
In the afternoon, we are backed up on Old Cherokee Road for several minutes. If we could have a few parents from the second group (last names L-Z) line up around 2:30, the line will flow more smoothly.
I want to say a heartfelt, "Thank you," for the funds we have raised in honor of Kennedy Branham. We went from $144 the first day to $1,123.41 on Friday! This is INCREDIBLE. All funds will be given to the Students in Action group at LHS, who will then give the money raised to Happy Wheels. I look forward to our 3rd and final collection tomorrow! Our LION community is simply amazing!
As we move into the end of the third quarter this week, please review feedback your child's teacher is sending home on a regular basis. While feedback driven reports for the third quarter will come out soon, it's best to review feedback for particular standards/tasks on an ongoing basis. If you have any questions or need to discuss something further, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher.
It's going to be another amazing week at NPE! Thank you for your partnership and support!
Sincerely,
Robert Candillo
