Looking for Alaska

By:John Green

Expostion

Miles starts boarding school at Culver Creek. There he meets Colonel , Colonel then introduces him to Alaska

Theme

To me the theme was kind of never give up. I though this because they never really gave up on their hopes.

Point of view

This story is told from the first person point of view of Pudge.

Example: It starts out by saying "The week before I left my family and Florida and the rest of my minor life to go to boarding school in Alabama, my mother insisted on throwing me a going-away party"

See it uses the words 'I' , 'my', and 'me

Dialoguge

John Green uses dialogue when Pudge is talking to someone like Colonel,Alaska, or his mom.

Example (He's talking to his mom):

"I can unpack, Mom," I said. My dad stood. He was ready to go.

"Let me at least make your bed," Mom said.

"No really. I can do it. It's okay." Because you simply cannot draw these things out forever.

Figurative Language

They use figurative language when are describing someone or something like they'll say

like 'To wet my sweat- soaked my body.'
