NSC 393/494 (041) Internship: Sports Nutrition

Description:

The NSC Sports Nutrition Internship will provide students with the opportunity for hands-on experience in the field of Sports Nutrition. Interns will have the chance to perform dietary intake assessments; experience menu development, recipe analysis, and training table observation; create sports product taste tests, nutrition education materials and presentations for athletes; learn and practice body composition assessment and analysis; and observe athletes during training to better understand the physical demands of various sports. We work closely with our internship participants to develop sports nutrition skill sets to compliment career aspirations within the sports and fitness nutrition industry.


Time commitment:

Fall 2016 semester, unpaid academic internship, 16 weeks.

2 credits / 6 hours per week

NSC 399/499 (041) Independent Study: Sports Nutrition (writing/marketing)

Description:

The Nutritional Sciences Department and RBar have collaborated to create a Sports Nutrition Independant study that will focus on social media writing and marketing in the area of sports nutrition. It will include writing one blog post a week. All editing, posting and photography, will be done by the preceptor. The student will create a consistent flow of personal content based on their own sports or outdoor adventure experience that will be marketed on social media from the company to the viewers. He/she will receive credit for all of their work, as well as having it posted to the RBar website, social media accounts, and other online blog spots. All work will be done at RBar offices. Transportation is a must!

Skills required:

outdoor/exercise/sport enthusiast who participates in (at least) one weekly adventure/activity that they can write about for the BLOG.
