In August, the 2015 Institute kicked off with the same confusion and bewilderment that every new AARI educator experiences. Remember that feeling? But look (above) at those enthusiastic smiles after exploring the AARI framework, engaging in questioning/text mapping, and spending a day with their coaches. They're ready to embark on the journey of AARI!
Welcome to Jill Jessen, a new Oakland Schools consultant fully dedicated to AARI! As an AARI educator, coach, and facilitator, Jill has been actively involved in the ever evolving work of AARI. She is excited to support AARI educators and work alongside Dalyce Beegle to facilitate Learning Labs, Design Studios, and other literacy focused professional learning opportunities.

Due to some recent changes, Oakland Schools will no longer provide QRI services.

However, we have two options for QRI support:

1. Send people from your district for QRI Training. This could be learning consultants, media specialists, para professionals, etc. Anyone who could help QRI students.

QRI Training is November 16 from 9-11:30am or 1-3:30pm.

Register here for EITHER session.

2. Hire QRI support. Oakland Schools has experienced QRI administrators who are available by district request for $25/hour.

Contact Jill with requests.
