MOVE GROW BUILD: Campfire Stories
People like to gather around the campfire to share exciting and scary stories--all in good fun. The Bible is filled with amazing, scary and exciting stories that are more than just fun, they can teach us valuable lessons about God.
This Sunday we'll gather around the fire and hear more about Daniel and the Silent Lions through Bible story, games and camp songs.
Preschoolers will meet downstairs. Elementary agers will meet upstairs.
Our last MOVE GROW BUILD for the school year will be on Sunday, May 6th. We'll pick back up after Labor Day.

Camp Sumatanga Info
It’s time to think about summer camp at Sumatanga (www.sumtanga.org) for Elementary age students! This year we have selected the week of June 10th for Trussville First to attend. When registering on-line, you now have the ability to make the $50 non-refundable deposit and make payments! No more paying in full when registering on-line. See on-line registration link below.
Rising 1st-3rd graders:
Day Camp is Monday, June 11-Friday, June 15. Cost is $150 per camper. This year we will NOT be taking the big yellow school bus. We will use the two smaller busses to take kids to/from camp each day. This means we will be able to provide transportation for ONLY 26 children. We will take reservations on a first come basis for church families. We will then open up available slots May 1st for others. If your child needs a ride please let me know ASAP. Email beth@fumctrussville.com if your child will need a ride.
Rising 3rd-6th graders:
Overnight Elementary Camp 1 is Sunday, June 10-Friday, June 15. Parents will provide transportation for their children to/from camp. Overnight camp cost is based on a Tier structure ($400, $450, or $500). For more information on this structure please go to http://www.sumatanga.org/summer-camp-faqs.html. Please click on How Much Does Summer Camp at Sumatanga Cost? Your camper will receive the same experience no matter which Tier you select.
As in the past, the children’s ministry has budgeted to pay a portion of summer camp for our church family children. The church will pay $50 for day campers and $150 for overnight camp. THE CHURCH WILL PAY SUMATANGA THIS PORTION DIRECTLY. However, you must let me know if you would like to receive this amount towards your campers cost.

Exodus: God Sees Aaron Make a Golden Calf Exodus 32:1-29; 40:12-15
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Moses is gone for a while, and the Israelites get upset. They ask Aaron to make a god they can see. Aaron goes along with the crowd. He makes a golden calf to worship. Thankfully, God loves us even when we go along with the crowd, so he later lets Aaron become a priest.
Family Together Time
Try this fun family activity to see how the wrong crowd can rub off on us.
- Give everyone in your family two different colors of construction paper.
- Each person will write his or her name on one piece and the names of friends on the other.
- Use a glue stick to stick the two pieces together, writing-side in.
- Rub the papers between your hands to help the glue adhere better. As you do, talk about your friendships. How do you build each other up? tear each other down?
- Pull the papers apart and see what happens.
- Discuss whether the people you hang out with are the people you want to rub off on you.
Talk About This…Tell about a time everyone around you was making a wrong choice
