CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR OLD GRAD FINALISTS
The Old Grad Award recognizes outstanding male and female senior athletes in Atlantic County who excel in multiple sports. DJ Germann and Anna Smith will attend a banquet at Great Bay Country Club, where they will be recognized alongside other finalists and a winner will be announced.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NJSIAA SCHOLAR HONOREE
Congratulations also to Sarah Rutledge, who has been recognized as our NJSIAA Scholar Honoree for academic and athletic success. Sarah will receive a $500 scholarship for her achievement.
Softball is now 21-1.
We defeated Clearview on Monday 25-8. Laura Mack was the winning pitcher and Jordan Miller had the save. Kaci Velardi went 4 for 5 on the day including a double. Payton Colbert went 3 for 4 with a double. Madison Biddle was 3 for 5 with a homerun, Sofia Spatocco went 3-5 with 2 homeruns, Sienna Walterson went 3 for 4 with a homerun, Elizabeth Maer went 2 for 4 with a homerun, Anna Valentino, Mary Del Re, and Shelby Barnes each had 2 hits.
On Tuesday we defeated Hammonton 13-3. Madison Dollard was the winning pitcher allowing 3 runs on 6 hits with 13 strikeouts. Sofia Spatocco led the way offensively for the Eagles going 4 for 4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a single. She had 7 RBIs on the day. Anna Valentino and Mary Del Re both had 2 hits, Del Re a double and 3 RBIs. Madison Biddle, Kaci Velardi, Payton Colbert all had 3 hits on the day and each added an rbi.
Wednesday we beat Vineland 3-1 in the CAL semi finals. Madison Dollard allowed 1 run on only 3 hits with 10 strikeouts. Payton Colbert had a 2 run double, Kaci Velardi went 2 for 2 with an RBI, Anna Valentino went 2 for 2 with a double, and Madison Biddle had a triple which led to her scoring.
Next game is home vs St. Joe at 4pm for the CAL championship.
Boys' volleyball set a new program record of fifteen wins with a victory over Hammonton on Tuesday 25-7, 25-18. Senior Michael Nammour and Alec Barnes led the team to victory particularly in the serving game. The Eagles were perfect on serves going 49 of 49 on the day with six aces. The team will look to extend that record with three regular season matches to go! Good luck today against ACIT.
5/14/23 - ATLANTIC COUNTY ROWING CHAMPIONSHIP:
Boys Varsity 8 won the CAL @ Lake Lenape yesterday. As did the Novice 8 with the 2V8 coming in second place.
Boys and girls crew will row in the Stotesbury Cup Regatta on Sat, May 20th on the Schuylkill River.
