Buckingham Spirit Assembly - Poverty Resolutions

On Wednesday, October 2nd, the students of Buckingham learned about global poverty and were inspired to take action. Poverty Resolutions, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the eradication of “dollar-a-day poverty,” came to speak to students about poverty in Haiti. Mr. Matt Jones co-founded Poverty Resolutions after traveling to Haiti in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake. He observed first-hand the extreme situation in which people live, and decided to dedicate himself to telling others in America about the needs of people in poverty around the world. By educating others about poverty and the ways in which it can be combated, Poverty Resolutions hopes to engage the American population in their mission to resolve poverty worldwide. To learn more about their cause, please click here. Buckingham appreciated learning how Mr. Jones has worked to "Make His Mark" around the world.
