Memorial Update
Information and News from Memorial~ November 1, 2021
November 1, 2021
Good Morning Memorial Families,
We had a fun Halloween parade on Friday morning, and thankfully the weather cooperated for us. Despite all of the rainy, windy, stormy weather this past week, we also managed to squeeze in a beauty of a night for Halloween yesterday. And now, November!
The month of November is an enjoyable one, as we have opportunities to talk to families about progress, we focus on gratefulness, and we prepare for the winter season ahead. Over the next few weeks, teachers will be meeting with individual families to talk about progress so far this year. This is an interesting year, as our baseline data shows the impact that the disrupted schooling has had on student learning. Our team of classroom teachers, special education teachers, academic tutors, Title 1 tutors, and our reading specialist have been working very hard to develop strong small group supports to accelerate student learning in all grades. We are encouraged by the progress students are making and we look forward to discussing how we are supporting your child this year. You can best prepare for your parent-teacher conference by coming prepared with a list of questions, and considering how you might best support your child at home as well. I encourage all families to meet with your child’s teacher even if you do not have concerns. The relationships built when teachers and parents talk together ensures that all students can make the most progress possible.
This week is a normal five day week of school, but please mark your calendars as next week is very choppy. Tuesday and Wednesday are early release days, and we will begin dismissal at 12:10 so that teachers can hold conferences. Thursday is a no school day due to the Veteran’s Day holiday, and Friday is a normal day of school.
As a reminder, parents MUST complete the online CIC consents for Test and Stay and Symptomatic BinaxNOW testing before testing can occur by the School Nurse per DESE regulations. If you want your child to be able to remain in school when deemed a close contact in school, please be sure to complete this form now.
Have a wonderful week, everyone!
Warmly,
Wendy
