ALICE DRILL
Dear Linden Families,
The Central Bucks School District is committed to providing the safest possible environment for its students and staff. To maintain a safe learning environment, we constantly work with state and local police to learn and implement best practices in school safety and security. As you know, Central Bucks has adopted Federally endorsed protocols for an intruder on campus situation, known as ALICE. The acronym stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate.
All Central Bucks teachers, staff, students, and administrators have been trained in the ALICE protocols. On Thursday, May 20, 2021, we will be conducting a security drill where we review and practice the ALICE protocols. During this drill, the students will be discussing the importance of listening to an adult during an emergency, how to secure a door, and how to construct a barricade using items from their classroom. *Due to our health and safety plan this year, our students will not be constructing the barricades in their classroom.
I encourage you to speak with your child(ren) about the drill. Please contact me if you have any questions about the ALICE program.
Sincerely,
Mike Testani

Seasonal Allergies
If your child is prone to seasonal allergies, NOW is the time to start their allergy medication. Many of the symptoms of allergies are the same as symptoms of COVID (cough, sore throat, runny nose, congestion, headache).
Unfortunately, we cannot tell the difference so we would need to follow the Health and Safety Plan and send your child home to be tested for COVID if they developed these symptoms.

Modified Quarantine...What does that mean?
As the school board approved the revisions to our health and safety plans, we will not follow the modified quarantine, as communicated by CBSD last week. Below is an infographic with more information regarding modified quarantine. If you should have any questions regarding the health of your child, please reach out to our school nurses. We appreciate your support as we continue to provide a safe and healthy environment for all.
Student Absences
In-Person Absences: Students will be marked absent if they are not in school that day. If the student should be physically present but is participating virtually due to COVID related concerns, the teacher will mark the attendance as "Participating Virtually". This will give the student credit for attendance.
Online Absences: If a student does not attend class, the student will be marked absent until we receive the communication from parents. Note: If a student logs-in initially, but leaves the call or does not engage, the comment "Virtually Cut" will be added to the comments section.
Appointments: If a student has to leave for an appointment, please email their teacher and 'cc Cyndi Faville as well.
Please contact Cindy Faville in the Linden Main office at 267-893-4402 or email at cfaville@cbsd.org with any questions.
Family Travel
If your child(ren) will be traveling now until the end of the school year, please complete a Request for Approved Absence Form.
Any questions about this procedure can be directed to Cindy Faville in the Linden Office, at cfaville@cbsd.org.

Mamma Mia will be performed on Friday, May 21 and Saturday, May 22 at 7:30PM in front of the East main entrance. Please bring a chair or blanket to sit on. Think of it as a rock concert with lawn seats only! Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at: www.purplepass.com/mammamia2021 We are capping ticket sales at 200 for each performance. In the event of inclement weather, we will hold the performances indoors again. Seats will be taped off to guarantee social distancing. A few days before the performances, if the weather looks like it is going to cooperate, we will be promoting the show with additional ticket sales at the door (cash or check only) to hopefully bring in a larger audience for our cast and crew. All parking will be in the student parking lot or over at Holicong as our performance will be at the front of the building. Please keep in mind that all audience members will be required to wear a mask at all times while on the East campus. All tickets are non-refundable.
