History of NATO
NATO is the international military allegiance based off of the North Atlantic Treaty. The North Atlantic Treaty was signed April 4, 1949. NATO's headquarters is located in Brussels, Belgium. The creation of NATO lead to the Warsaw Pact, which is the communist equivalent. After the Cold War, the Warsaw Pact was terminated, but NATO is still active today and has 28 countries involved in the organizations.
