Worthington Park Shark Sentinel
Sunday, January 3rd, 2021
Dear Worthington Park Families,
Happy New Year! We are excited to get back to work with our students tomorrow, January 4th. As a brief reminder, we are continuing our Remote learning this week until Friday, January 8th. Students will follow the same schedule your child's teacher used last December with alternating AM and PM live learning via Zoom. If you have any questions about when to log in, please contact your child's teacher or call the office at (614)450-5500.
RETURN TO HYBRID LEARNING
Starting on January 11th, we will be returning to in-person, Hybrid learning here at Worthington Park. Students will follow their A-Day (blue) or B-Day (green) schedule starting that day. A copy of the calendar is posted below for your convenience. Please remember that drop off starts at 7:35 am and dismissal is at 2:25 pm. Students are expected to work from home on their alternating days using either Seesaw (K-5) or Schoology (6th). We are SO EXCITED to have our students back in the building on the 11th and 12th. Please contact Principal Garrity with any questions or concerns.
Each school year, students in Worthington Schools take the NWEA Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) test. MAP is a district-assigned diagnostic assessment used to determine current academic levels and to inform classroom instruction. As we transition to January, we are gearing up to take the MAP tests in person with all Worthington students in grades 1st-6th. These assessments will start the week of January 11th and continue throughout January and February. Classroom teachers will share more information with you directly about which days your child will be assessed.
Here is a link from the District Website in regards to resources and more information about MAP testing.
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION 2021-2022
We are excited to announce that the 2021-2022 Kindergarten Registration is now OPEN! The process begins online at the District webpage/Welcome Center. Here is a link to our Welcome Center website for more information: https://www.worthington.k12.oh.us/domain/746
Please remember that if you, your child, or a member of your family has been in direct exposure to anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 you do need to report this to our school district via our district website linked here. (We are also asking you to submit a form if a member of your family goes to get a Covid test and you are awaiting the results)
If your child is showing any ill symptoms including fever, sore throat, difficulty breathing, etc. please reach out to our school nurse and keep your child at home. While we do hate having students miss days here at school- your child's safety is our main priority!
