Mission & Vision
We did the first steps in this important work during the 2017/2018 school year. We now need to refine this work an d ensure that our mission & vision truly reflects who we want to be as a school. We will do this by:
- Refining & Defining our mission & vision
- Exemplifying our mission & vision through our actions
- Making sure our school (physical spaces, website, app, etc) reflects our mission & vision
- Sharing examples of how classroom teachers are exemplifying our mission & vision at staff meetings
PBIS
Next year will be Year 2 of PBIS Implementation! We will:
- Provide the next level of training in Restorative Practices in order to support PBIS
- Implement guidelines for major and minor student behaviors
- Use SWIS for behavior documentation
- Improve PBIS structures put in place during Year 1
- Use the new Major/Minor matrix and the new referral form
The Art of Writing
With Step Up to Writing, we have tools and resources in place to support the science of writing. In 2019/2020, we will continue this work as well as starting to focus on the art of writing. Some ways we will accomplish this goal:
- Determine Step Up agreements K-6
- Through a collaborative process, Literacy Committee decided to bring in 6 Traits of Writing and Ralph Fletcher's Craft Lessons for the 2019-2020 school year
- Literacy committee will create a PD writing plan for 2019-2020 school year
- We will create a Writing Resource area with resources for teachers such as mentor texts, Ralph Fletcher, Lucy Calkins, Quickwrites, and other resources
