Criminal Justice Program Visits Canton Police Deparment
From the Desk of Mr. Brendan Welch: " On Friday, February 12th, the Criminal Justice program visited the Canton Police Department. Officer Scott Connor, our school resource officer and advisory board member gave 15 students a tour of the entire facility to see the inner workings of the department. Students had a chance to meet Chief Berkowitz and Deputy Chief Helena Raferty and one of the K-9 dogs. Students also learned how fingerprints are developed, stored and how you are processed into the system during an arrest. They were also given an overview of how the 911 system works. Special thanks to the Canton Police for allowing us to tour through the facility to see all that is offered in this occupation. Photos provided by Mr. Welch.
Engineering Lecture Series
The Department of Engineering had the pleasure of both Bernie Baher and Frank Volpe giving a two hour lecture to our students on non-destructive methods of testing material. The students enjoyed the lecture/discussion, helpful handouts and demonstrations. Submitted by Dr. Mike Meyers.
