February 2023

Dear Parent:

Spring ISD and Dekaney High School are sharing this information about the district and your child’s campus with you as part of its obligations under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA).

Federal Report Cards for the state, the district, and each of the district’s campuses are now available on the district’s website at this link: https://www.springisd.org/Page/1166 or are also available on the Texas Education Agency’s website at: https://tea.texas.gov/texas-schools/accountability/academic-accountability/performance-reporting/federal-report-cards.

Please visit the campus website for more school reports: at the bottom of the main landing page “School Reports”.

Spring ISD Quality Survey

"How to Request Transcripts via Naviance"

You do NOT have to wait to apply to your colleges in order to request your transcripts. If you have already requested transcripts, please check your Naviance portal because it will update as "SENT" once they have been electronically delivered to your schools. Please read and follow the instructions listed below, as they are detailed and will help you in your process. Here are the steps:

  1. After logging into Naviance click "Colleges I'm Applying to" with the little RED/PINK graduation hat
  2. Click the RED/PINK button with the plus sign (+) in the right-hand corner
  3. Add each college/university you are applying to individually
  4. Then click "Initial" for your transcript type (Mid-year and Final won't be available until next semester)
  5. If you are applying to your colleges/universities via ApplyTexas.org (all Texas schools) or directly through their website (Ex: Southern A&M University) then select "Direct to Intuition"
  6. If you are applying to your colleges/universities only via CommonApp.org (Out of State schools and a few Texas schools) then select "Common App"
  7. Lastly, click "Add & Request" at the bottom page

Many students mess up on steps 5 or 6 so please ensure you do that part correctly, if not, go back and make changes asap. If you need your official transcripts (sealed & stamped) to be mailed for scholarships or special circumstances, then you need to fill out a paper request form from Ms. Griggs at the registrar's office.

For additional support please follow the @dekaneyccc Instagram! If you have any questions or concerns, please let Ms. Wilkins or Dr. Holmes know in the College & Career Center.
