Frequently Asked Questions
When is the first day of school?
This is a modified day, see bell schedule for details.
Where do we park for the first day of school?
Since the staff parking lot will NOT be a drop-off/pick-up zone this year, all families should anticipate walking from home, if close by, or parking on the streets surrounding PVES.
Families and students can walk through their assigned gates at 8:40 to classrooms on the first day.
When will we find out our child's class assignment?
PVES currently has two combo classes. A K/1 combo taught by Mrs. Smith and a 2/3 combo taught by Mrs. Downs.
Please note: Our enrollment numbers continue to grow and balanced classes are created to ensure student success. We will not be accepting requests for teacher/classroom changes.
Will an adult be allowed to walk my student to class on the first day of school?
Starting Tuesday, August 16th ALL students will have to enter the gates and navigate to their line independently. There will be plenty of employees available to help students get to their classroom lines.

What will the first day look like for TK and Kindergarten?
Families should plan to park on the surrounding streets and walk into the school. TK/Kindergarten students will enter through the Kindergarten gate (by the front office). On the first day, families may walk with their students to their classrooms. After the first day, the gate will open at 8:40 for students to walk to their classes. Families can wait by the gate with their students until the gate opens. Don't worry...we will have staff members available to help guide them to their classes.
For Kinder students in the combo, they will line up and we will bring them through the office to their classroom.
What are the drop-off and pick-up procedures?
DROP-OFF PROCEDURES
Before arriving at school, families will conduct a health self-check to ensure the safety of their child(ren) and others.
No student entry prior to 8:40 a.m. (AM) or 10:25 a.m. (PM TK-K). Please do not drop off early as there will be no student supervision.

Families will drop off students at the SIDE LOOP
Vehicles will enter by TURNING RIGHT into the loop from Regina Drive. No left turns from Regina Drive will be allowed.
Drop students off using the lane closest to the curb.
Do not exit the car or leave car unattended.
The Bus loop in the front of the school is for students riding the bus ONLY. Please DO NOT use this loop to drop off students.
