Safe Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
A reminder that the parking lot is for staff parking only. Please do not drop off or pick up your students in the staff parking lot. Also, please respect the bus zone in front of the school by not parking between the signs.
Arrival
In the morning before school starts, students are encouraged to head to the playground to get some outside time prior to the 8:25 AM bell. Grade 1 -5 Students should enter the school through their designated door when the bell rings at the North East side of the building. Backpacks can be brought in at that time. Parents please do not accompany your students down the hall to their classrooms. Thank you for helping us empower them to become independent!
Full Time Kindergarten Students may enter on the East side of the building where their boot rack is located.
Part Time Kindergarten & Early learning students will use the front doors to enter the school.
Dismissal
Students will be dismissed out of their designated door. Please pick up your students at their designated door to help ensure we have minimal congestion in our hallways. Our bus and OSCAR students will walk to the front door entry for their dismissal.
Thank you again for helping support our students independence and ensuring our hallways are clear! This helps all of our students with an easy dismissal. Finally, students should only cross the road at a designated cross walk. We will have our Safety Patrollers starting up in the next couple of weeks, but until then please remind your child about crossing the street only at a crosswalk.

Orange Shirt Day
Orange Shirt Day is a campaign that remembers the experiences of former students of residential schools and is a commitment to ongoing reconciliation in Canada. Residential school survivor Phyllis Webstad of Williams Lake, B.C., began the campaign in 2013 to raise awareness of residential school history. In 1973, when she was six, Webstad excitedly wore an orange shirt on her first day of residential school, only to have the shirt taken away. She was also told not to speak her language. (ATA News, Oct 11, 2016)
Staff and Students are encourage to wear an orange shirt September 30, 2019 in support of Orange Shirt Day.
