Third grade students at Kernsville Elementary have raised money for Angel 34 with a "Coins for Cancer" campaign. Doug Sherriff, CEO of Angel 34, visited the classes today to reveal the total amount raised this year - $791.96! The third grade teachers use the Language Arts Curriculum Unit "Making A Difference" and put it into action each year by helping students organize a fundraiser from start to finish. In past years, they raised enough money to place an ICEE Machine in a hospital in Connecticut and purchase supplies at local Lehigh Valley Hospitals as well. The money raised this year will provide more than 1,000 ICEEs for those in need here in the Lehigh Valley.
