#MakeADifferenceMonday
Tune in every Monday for #MakeADifferenceMonday where we will feature a stakeholder, student, or fellow alumni answering "Five questions for B-C-S"
For the next 3 weeks we will feature one of our graduating seniors from the Class of 2018!
This week B-C-S is featuring, Senior, Rachel Rayburn!
1. Please tell the B-C-S Community a little about yourself.
- I'm a senior at Oak Harbor and enjoy being involved in both my school and my community. Being elected president of Student Council this year provided me with many opportunities to reach out to the community, such as playing bingo at Riverview once a month. Inside of school, I participated in Volleyball, Science Club, multiple school musicals, National Honors Society, and DECA.
2. What are your career plans and goals and how do you plan to achieve them?
- After high school, I plan on attending Bowling Green State University in the fall. Deciding my on my major was a difficult task considering I changed my mind just about every week. However, I've decided to pursue my pilot’s license in hopes of a satisfying and entertaining career. I will be majoring in Flight Technology & Operations, so long as I do not change my mind once more. I plan on achieving this career goal by maintaining the same hard work ethic I had throughout high school.
3. What is your favorite high school memory?
- My favorite high school memory is not just one, but many. I loved being able to support my fellow classmates by watching them showcase their individual talents. Whether that be performing on a stage or competing on a court. The times I enjoyed the most were dressing up with my fellow students for the specific theme each game and cheering on our Rocket athletes. It was so amazing to be a part of the student body coming together to support one another.
4. What is the best advice you could give to underclassman?
- I know it's cliché and underclassmen hear it all the time, but cherish every moment of high school you have left. Get involved in every possible thing you can. Don't be afraid to embarrass yourself or to try something you'd never have imagined yourself doing. Make all the memories you can because before you know it, high school will be over. And all you'll have left to hold onto are those memories.
5. What’s on your bucket list this summer?
- My bucket list for this summer is all about adventure. I'd love to skydive again, maybe scuba dive in the tropics, or find a random cave to explore. My bucket list basically consists of discovering some new favorite places and activities. I also hope to create as many memories as possible with my friends before we part in the fall.
