Be Seen and Heard Assembly
After continued positive feedback from our students, parents, and staff, Union Elementary School District will be hosting our sixth year of Be Seen and Heard© assemblies for K-8 students at all school sites beginning Thursday, September 29, 2022. They are presented in the interest of student safety and will address the dangers of child sexual abuse, the differences between a safe and unsafe touch and a safe and unsafe secret, the importance of voice, and identifying trusted adults. As a parent/guardian, you have the right to determine whether your child attends this assembly, and there will be an opt-out form provided if you do not want your student to attend.
Look out for an email from the Learning & Innovation Department later this week with more information about the assemblies and the Parent Information Night.
Save the Date - Virtual Parent Information Night: (September 19, 6:00 PM) - Learn more about the Be Seen and Heard© program. The presenter, Deanna Hynes, will lead parents through an overview of the program and will be available to answer questions. This presentation is open to ALL Union Elementary School District parents/guardians.
Walk N' Roll Newsletters
Student Emergency Update: Action Required for Parents
All parents received an email with the subject line "Union School District - Emergency Data Update 2022-2023 School Year". The Emergency Data Update Form is typically filled out on Back to School Night. However, this is now done via email. Please make sure you make necessary changes to your students information. If no changes are needed make sure you check the box "no changes". Directions can be found in the email.
School Site Council - Parent Input Needed
The School Site Council is a group of teachers, parents, and classified employees who work with the principal to develop, review, and evaluate school improvement programs and school budgets. Lietz Elementary currently has open parent positions. Please consider being part of this important committee. We will meet four times during the year. Meetings take place after school and take approximately one hour. If you are interested, please email the principal at email@example.com by September 14th. Elections will be held if multiple parents apply. Thank you for considering!
