A Note From our Principal
Dear North Beach Families:
Students and staff were so happy to be back in person for the first week of school. While we’ve had to change many of our practices as we adjust to new realities, the joy of returning to school, seeing old friends and making new ones remains the same.
We appreciate your patience as we monitor our new arrival, dismissal, and lunch/recess routines. Throughout the year the Building Safety Team will review feedback from staff, students and families and utilize it in conjunction with evolving guidelines from SPS/Public Health/CDC to make changes to routines and procedures during the school day. The plans we have in place are there for the sole objective of maintaining the health and safety of our students and staff. We look forward to modifying these and moving toward less restrictive routines, but this will happen based on data our staff have that supports maintaining a safe environment. Thank you for your support.
We were excited to utilize our covered play court today for lunchtime! Next Wednesday we will have tents installed onsite to support outdoor lunch while all students are eating outside.
One change we will be making starting Tuesday morning is our First Grade classes will be lining up at the south gate entrance. This is the same location kindergarten lined up in the spring. Until the students are more comfortable with moving around campus independently, this will help them adjust. If you have been dropping your child off at the north gate, we recommend utilizing the south gate for your 1st grade student.
We look forward to welcoming our Preschool and Kindergarten students on Thursday! Enjoy the weekend.
Stay safe and healthy,
Kristine McLane
Principal

Important information for school volunteers
Governor Inslee mandated that all school volunteers must be vaccinated against COVID-19. SPS volunteers are required to carry proof of vaccination when volunteering at the school.
To further mitigate COVID-19 exposure and transmissions, volunteers are required to:
- Complete online Health and Safety course
- Sign-in before arriving at the school to review COVID symptoms and provide information for contact tracing
- Always wear a mask, physically distance, and wash hands frequently
- Follow additional safety rules as required by the school and the COVID-19 site supervisor
Previously approved volunteers must update their online volunteer application due to new health and safety requirements.
To update and renew your application click here.
- Check your status after logging in. Review the FAQ page if you need help interpreting the page.
- Review and update your school selection(s). Only schools you select on your volunteer application may contact you.
